Guided walks and trails explained

Guided walks along scenic wilderness trails for wildlife experiences free of invasive crowds

Participation in all guided walks on tour is optional so you can craft your holiday according to your abilities and fitness levels, enjoying a passive or active program.

Virtually all our walking guests have been over 50 yrs, proudly young and active.

We have enjoyed the company of active 77 yr olds participating fully in all tour activities.

Some remote outback conditions and tours are more conducive to leisure based soft adventures rather than convened walking activities.

Trails vary significantly between tours but are generally selected to be moderate to easy in grade or challenge, requiring:

  • a reasonable level of fitness
  • quality light weight boots with ankle support
  • a day pack only for personal belongings
  • and a spirit of adventure

Further details are available on our Guided Walking Tours page and full details appear in the guest’s planning and preparation documentation forwarded after booking.

Trails can range in length from 2 to 10 kms (1 to 6 miles) with a couple stretching to 16 to 18 kms (10 to 12 miles) on two tours. All tours and walks are scheduled for the most comfortable seasonal conditions.

Duration of walks (conducted at a leisurely pace of about 2 kms or 1 mile / hr average):

  • Roaming (R) – less than 1 hr.
  • Half day (HD) – approx 3 hrs
  • Full day (FD) – approx 6 to 7 hrs

We usually have two tour guides / walk leaders, making it possible for us to offer both easy and more active walks as the occasion determines.

If you wish to discuss the walking program of any one tour, feel free to email us at tours@natureboundaustralia.com or enquire on line.
